Jim Morrison was an American rock singer/songwriter born on December 8, 1943. While studying film at UCLA, he met the members of what became an iconic band, Doors that later had hits like “Hello, I Love You,” “Light My Fire,” and “Touch Me.” He was known for his outrageous stage behavior, as well as his drinking and drug use. In an attempt to leave that life behind, Morrison left the Doors and moved to Paris to write poetry. At the young age of 27, he died of heart failure, which was presumably due to his drug addiction.
